About The Position

Responsible for the development and coordination of pre-award documents and the oversight and project financial administration during the award life cycle for extramural sponsored programs targeting areas of health care innovations in outcomes, quality, and effectiveness. Provides high-level customer service to researchers and departments while serving as a liaison with sponsors. Remote work from certain states can be considered for this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in health sciences or related field of study.
  • Two (2) years of experience.
  • Computer skills with a proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Mathematical skills.
  • Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier).

  • Experience in research administration to include compliance and post-award services.
  • Formal certification in grant preparation and management.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of audiences to include clinicians and staff, sponsors, collaborators at other academic institutions, and departments.

  • Ability to meets the needs of customers, by providing high quality professional services while seeking ways to improve operations through innovation.
  • Ability to guide others to the accomplishment objectives and responsibilities, to promote teamwork, and to resolve problems.
  • Participates in professional development opportunities including but not limited to obtaining CRA or related certification.

Responsibilities

  • Works with investigators and other team members to prepare proposal documents, budgets, and supporting internal forms and obtains institutional approvals for sponsored programs including grants and clinical trials.
  • Ensures complete, compliant submissions and account management in accordance with sponsor and institutional policy.
  • Performs post-award administrative functions including account setup, invoicing, financial reporting, and management of receivables and payments including monitoring aging and transferring residual balances.
  • Remains up to date on research administration policies and sponsor guidelines and educates Principal Investigators and team members to ensure compliance.
  • Identifies appropriate funding opportunities and connects to researchers with interest in related topic areas.
  • Connects researchers to collaborators and facilitates team development.
  • Supports pre-award compliance activities including but not limited to conflict of interest and federal registrations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
