About The Position

The Grants Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of government and private funder grants and contracts, ensuring alignment with federal, state, and local requirements. This position supports a portfolio of government contracts and serves as a key liaison between program teams, finance, and external funders—including Georgia DFCS, HUD, and DBHDD. The primary responsibility of this role is to support program implementation through strong grant compliance, documentation, and reporting, with secondary responsibility for coordinating and submitting philanthropic grant reports in partnership with the Development team. The Grants Administrator ensures strong contract stewardship, compliance, reporting, monitoring readiness, and coordination across multiple funding streams and programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Human Services, Social Work, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience administering government grants or contracts in a nonprofit, public sector, or similar environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with state and/or federal funding (e.g., DFCS, HUD, DBHDD, county or municipal contracts).
  • Strong knowledge of grant compliance, reporting, and documentation requirements.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and deadline-management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with multiple funding streams and complex contract portfolios.

  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with grants management, data tracking, or reporting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of government grants and contracts, including execution, compliance, reporting, renewals, amendments, and closeout.
  • Maintain master grant files, contract terms, scopes of work, reporting schedules, budget narratives, and compliance documentation.
  • Track contract deliverables, performance measures, spending deadlines, and required reports across all funding sources.
  • Support data management to ensure accurate data reporting.
  • Builds relationships with key grant funders through regular touchpoints.
  • Prospects grant opportunities and assists in grant writing.
  • Collaborate with Finance and program leadership to ensure grant activities, documentation, and use of funds align with funder requirements and applicable regulations.
  • Review grant-related submissions, revisions, reimbursement requests, and reports for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Monitor grant implementation timelines, requirements, and potential risk areas, and proactively elevate concerns that may affect compliance or performance.
  • Prepare, review, and submit required programmatic reports and supporting documentation to government funders in a timely and accurate manner, coordinating with Finance as needed.
  • Coordinate and support funder monitoring visits, desk reviews, and audits; ensure readiness and timely response to findings or corrective actions.
  • Partner with program staff to ensure documentation supports reported outcomes and deliverables.
  • Serve as an internal resource to program leaders on grant requirements, contract compliance, and documentation standards.
  • Support grant proposal development as needed, including narrative development, compliance language, attachment preparation, and cross-team coordination, in collaboration with Development and Program teams.
  • Assist with onboarding and training program staff on grant-specific requirements.
  • Maintain tracking systems for grant deadlines, reporting requirements, and compliance milestones.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of grant management policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Support organizational readiness for growth in government funding.
