About The Position

Kimley-Horn is seeking an experienced Grants Professional to join their Richardson, Texas (TX) office. This is an in-office position. The primary focus of this role is to support engineering teams in assisting public sector clients with pursuing private grants. This includes strategic planning and organizing grant opportunities that clients are most interested in.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Planning, Finance, English, Public Administration, Business, Communications, Marketing, or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in grant writing, administration, and management.
  • Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization and externally to clients.
  • Highly organized, motivated, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to elevate others and work well in a team environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully writing and winning grants and administering them.
  • Flexible and adaptable to evolving market needs and internal processes.
  • Proven track record of working in teams and providing a collaborative environment, and consensus-building with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to gather, interpret, and convey technical information.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Locating, applying for, and administering grants on behalf of clients (local governments, agencies, organizations) for public infrastructure development and projects.
  • Identifying funding sources from federal, state, local agencies, Legislative Appropriations, foundations, or other third-party/private organizations.
  • Establishing organizational tools for grant management.
  • Leveraging data management tools to organize grant information.
  • Maintaining the annual program calendar through strategic business planning, including identifying clients, projects, and grants, and proposing targeted outreach.
  • Researching and understanding the requirements of various grants and third-party funding opportunities.
  • Developing grant proposals.
  • Completing grant-specific reports and assembling grant applications.
  • Partnering with engineering and planning teams to match appropriate grants to client needs.
  • Directly communicating and coordinating with clients.
  • Coordinating with internal partners regarding technical aspects of grant application requirements.
  • Formulating grant and/or third-party funding applications.
  • Coordinating with the marketing team for graphics and support.
  • Managing grant submittals on behalf of clients.
  • Other similar duties may be assigned.
