About The Position

The Grant Writer and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for analyzing, organizing, and using complex information for multiple audiences across multiple mediums. This role requires excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and oral communication skills. The individual will manage multiple and diverse projects, exercise independent judgment, and take initiative to complete projects in a timely manner, often under tight deadlines. The position also involves understanding sales and marketing processes, creating supporting communications materials, and distilling industry-specific language into customer-friendly language. Proficiency with MS Office products, Adobe Creative Suite, and social media platforms is required. The role also involves building internal and external relationships to achieve business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of related experience (including grant writing experience) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and oral communications skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze, organize and use complex information for multiple audiences across multiple mediums.
  • Aptitude to competently manage multiple and diverse projects.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products, Adobe Creative Suite, and social media platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, both internal and external, to help achieve business outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Wordpress, MailChimp, and marketing automation software.
  • Experience working with data, infographics, or data visualization experience.
  • Familiarity with workforce development and/or economic development.
