About The Position

The Grant Writer and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to grant writing and communications. This role requires excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to analyze and organize complex information for diverse audiences across multiple platforms. The position involves managing multiple projects, exercising independent judgment, and working effectively under deadlines. A strong understanding of sales and marketing processes, including supporting communications materials like grant/RFP responses, presentations, blogs, and white papers, is essential. The coordinator must be able to translate technical language into customer-friendly terms and build internal and external relationships to achieve business goals. Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and social media platforms is required. Experience with Wordpress, MailChimp, marketing automation software, data visualization, and familiarity with workforce or economic development are preferred.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of related experience (including grant writing experience) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and oral communications skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze, organize and use complex information for multiple audiences across multiple mediums.
  • Aptitude to competently manage multiple and diverse projects and use independent judgment on when and how to respond to shifting priorities and the unexpected.
  • Exercise good judgment and take initiative to complete projects in a timely manner, often under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, effective teamwork, and strong service mentality.
  • Outstanding organization and project management skills.
  • Understanding of sales and marketing processes and supporting communications materials (such as grant/RFP responses, PowerPoint presentations, blogs, white papers, etc.).
  • Ability to distill industry/subject matter-specific language into customer-friendly language.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products, Adobe Creative Suite, and social media platforms required.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, both internal and external, to help achieve business outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Wordpress, MailChimp, and marketing automation software.
  • Experience working with data, infographics, or data visualization experience.
  • Familiarity with workforce development and/or economic development.
