About The Position

The Grant Submission Manager is responsible for pre-award grant compliance and grant and applicable contract submissions, supporting the Director of Research. This role involves reviewing grants and incoming contracts for compliance, supporting faculty and staff led proposals, and assisting the Director of Research in adhering to proposal and contract/bid submission guidelines and federal regulations. The position also provides administrative support for the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) events, assists in coordinating grant training workshops, and reviews/incorporates feedback on budget and administrative forms for grant submissions. Key duties include maintaining the grants database and Cayuse software, serving as a liaison for sub-award compliance, supporting grant routing and administration, and assisting with other office functions like contract preparation and web-based site maintenance. The role also involves cross-training in office compliance functions and supporting personnel such as the human and animal research director and the director of strategic research. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Two (2) years of experience with grant/contract process
  • Experience with federal funder submission portals like ASSIST, Research.gov, and Grants.gov.
  • Knowledge of federal opportunities, particularly NIH and NSF.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer office software including word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation applications and databases.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews grants and incoming contracts for compliance.
  • Supports submission of faculty and staff led proposals.
  • Supports the Director of Research in the application of proposal and contracts/ bid submission guidelines and any/all federal regulations.
  • Provides administrative support for the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) events, including the Research and Creativity Showcase.
  • Assists in coordination of grant training workshops.
  • Reviews and incorporates feedback to faculty for budget and administrative forms in grant submissions.
  • Maintains existing grants database and University-wide grants software Cayuse.
  • Serves as liaison for incoming and outgoing sub-award compliance review and paperwork.
  • Supports grant routing and administration.
  • Provide support for other office functions, including preparation of contracts.
  • Assist/ cross train in office compliance functions as need and maintenance of web based sites related to research.
  • Coordinate / support office personnel, including human and animal research director, and director of strategic research.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
