About The Position

Assists other Cherokee Nation programs and departments in writing and preparing proposals and projects; identifies funding opportunities; creates, reviews, and edits proposals; and provides training to programs to identify funding opportunities, develops competitive proposals, and other aspects necessary for obtaining external funding. Develops and administers a system for tracking and monitoring assigned grants, including monitoring compliance with applicable federal, state, tribal, or other funding agency requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university; or six (6) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • No additional experience required
  • Knowledge of Accounting software
  • Knowledge of Database software
  • Knowledge of Internet software
  • Knowledge of Spreadsheet software
  • Knowledge of Word Processing software
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets the requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating
  • Must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)
  • Very high-level technical writing skills, including the grammatical and syntactic, and analytic composition of long and sustained plans
  • The ability to grasp and write in many domains
