About The Position

The San Antonio AIDS Foundation (SAAF) seeks a Grant and Research Coordinator to manage existing projects, ensuring efficiency, ethics, and compliance. This role involves acting as a liaison between research teams, participants, and stakeholders, including project planning, data collection, reporting, and presenting results. The position also entails researching grant opportunities and leading grant writing and submission efforts with the CEO. A high level of cultural competency regarding the unique needs of gender and sexually diverse communities, communities of color, and other marginalized populations is essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, sociology, or related field
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of issues relating to people living with HIV/AIDS, LGBTQ+ Health, and sexual health
  • Knowledge of grant administration, research coordination, data collection, and/or facilitating the patient experience in research projects
  • Working knowledge with electronic health record systems and familiarity with medical terminology
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to generate high-quality technical writing and written/oral presentations
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and databases
  • Detail-oriented with meticulous planning, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Ability to travel occasionally

Responsibilities

  • Researches grant opportunities, determines suitability, and schedules/directs grant preparation.
  • Plans and coordinates the initiation of research study protocols and the establishment of operating policies and procedures.
  • Promotes research capacity building among community-based organizations and university partners.
  • Recruits, instructs, and coordinates research subjects and/or volunteers.
  • Prepares research ethics board applications.
  • Coordinates the collection and analysis of research data.
  • Plans, implements, and maintains data collection and analysis systems.
  • Ensures the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research and data collection activities.
  • Acts as the primary administrative point of contact for internal project staff and the principal operational liaison for partner organizations, funding agencies, and regulating bodies.
  • Coordinates the day-to-day activities of technical support staff engaged in research/clinical protocols.
  • Monitors research progress, maintains records, and prepares periodic and ad hoc reports.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties, including supporting other HIV services programs.
  • Complies with San Antonio AIDS Foundation Policies and Procedures.
