About The Position

The Grant Coordinator role with the Department of Environmental Protection offers the chance to support meaningful environmental restoration across Pennsylvania. You will work closely with partners and programs that make a real difference in the quality of the environment. In this position, you will support the Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation by coordinating grant activities that restore land and water within Pennsylvania's bituminous coal region.

Requirements

  • Seven years of experience in environmental protection, environmental regulation, or resource conservation which includes three years of experience in a professional capacity; or Three years of professional experience in environmental protection, environmental regulation, or resource conservation and a bachelor’s degree in biological or environmental science, environmental protection, resource conservation, engineering, or a closely related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes three years of professional experience in environmental protection, environmental regulation, or resource conservation.
  • Possession of an active motor vehicle license.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate grant applications, discuss project ideas with applicants, and make eligibility determinations
  • Track project progress, ensure reporting requirements are met, and prepare program reports
  • Review reimbursement requests and analyze funding use to support effective grant management
  • Work with technical staff and partner programs to align abandoned mine land (AML) and abandoned mine drainage (AMD) projects with statewide efforts
  • Enter and maintain accurate program data in required electronic systems
  • Assist in training staff on processes and procedures related to the AML/AMD Grant Program
