About The Position

Xyólheméylh is an Indigenous Child & Family Service Agency providing programs and services to Indigenous children, youth, and families on and off reserve within Stó:lō Territory in the Fraser Valley. The agency strives to work in a holistic way to keep families together and reintegrate children back with their families and extended families. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field: Communications, English, or Business Administration.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience successfully securing grants from foundations and government agencies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong communication skills to ensure effective understanding of program and funding needs
  • Well versed in relevant windows-based applications and software’s
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Excellent research and reporting skills
  • Experience with grant budget development and management
  • A proven record of securing major grants from various funding sources
  • Knowledge of grant application process, scoring criteria and funding cycles
  • Knowledge of provincial and federal grant application, submission, approval and management of funds
  • Excellent organizational, research, and reporting skills
  • Criminal Records check required.
  • Valid class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence without restrictions.

Responsibilities

  • Research and identify potential funding sources to support existing and planned program activities
  • Lead the development, writing, and submission of high-quality grant proposals and applications to secure funding from federal, provincial, and private funding bodies to match organizational needs and goals
  • Track grant schedules, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with deadlines. Maintain an organized database of grant statuses and follow up on submitted proposals
  • Serves as a liaison to all funding agencies, foundations and organizations
  • Works with appropriate personnel to research, develop, write and submit letters of inquiry and grant proposals
  • Coordinates with the finance team to create expenditure and income budgets to validate the value of proposals
  • Develops and maintains a master file on pending grants and contracts, previously received grants, and other information for future grant proposals
  • Remains up to date on current issues relative to grant proposals
  • Keep up to date with trends and regulations in grant writing, ensuring compliance with grant requirements, including proper expenditure management and reporting
  • Meets regularly with staff to discuss current and new funding needs and seek opportunities to fulfill those needs through grants and other available/appropriate funding sources
  • Inform staff and answer questions regarding the allowability of proposed expenditures related to all specific grants
  • Inform supervisor on the progress of all grants and issues that may arise with each grant
  • Maintains confidentiality of information exposed to in the course of business regarding clients, families, communities or other parties
