The Grant Writer plays a critical role in securing the philanthropic and grant funding necessary to advance the organization’s mission. This position is responsible for researching, developing, and submitting high-quality proposals that result in successful grant awards. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and skilled storyteller, committed to helping the organization grow its funding base. This role is designed for someone who wants to succeed and is supported in succeeding in securing grants that directly strengthen our programs, services, and long-term sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue grant opportunities that align with organizational priorities and have a strong likelihood of success
  • Write compelling, accurate, and competitive grant proposals
  • Collaborate with program and finance teams to develop strong narratives, measurable outcomes, and fundable budgets
  • Ensure proposals are strategically positioned to maximize award potential
  • Track all grant submissions, deadlines, and reporting requirements
  • Prepare timely and accurate interim and final grant reports
  • Support stewardship efforts that strengthen funder confidence and encourage continued or expanded funding
  • Gather and synthesize program data to strengthen proposals and demonstrate measurable success
  • Work with program teams to highlight outcomes that improve competitiveness for future grants
