About The Position

The Granite Polisher will be responsible for polishing material/parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing using hand and power tools. This role involves applying pressure to polish, glaze, and buff while ensuring dimensions remain consistent. The Granite Polisher will also verify the quality of finished workpieces through inspection, comparison to templates, measurement, and marking defects. Ensuring the proper use of equipment, maintaining a clean station, and adhering to safety procedures, including wearing all required personal protective equipment (safety glasses, earplugs, waterproof gear, face mask, etc.), are key responsibilities. Teamwork, including assisting coworkers at other stations, and performing other duties as assigned are also part of the role.

Requirements

Basic knowledge in math (adding and subtracting measurements)
Basic knowledge in maintenance
Ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs

Nice To Haves

Experience in fabricating Marble, Granite and Quartz
Experience in Construction, Industrial, and Manufacturing fields
Experience in material polishing
Experience operating a forklift
High School Diploma/GED
Forklift: 1 year (Preferred)
Manufacturing: 1 year (Preferred)
Warehouse work: 1 year (Preferred)
Power tools: 1 year (Preferred)

Responsibilities

Polish material/parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand and power tools
Apply pressure to polish, glaze, and buff while making sure dimensions stay the same
Verify the quality of finished workpieces by inspecting, comparing to templates, measuring dimensions, and marking any defects for possible rework
Ensure proper use of equipment
Teamwork: helping coworkers in other stations if needed
Maintain a clean station
Responsible for wearing all personal protective equipment (safety glasses, earplugs, waterproof gear, face mask, etc.)
Ensure safety procedures are followed
Other duties as assigned
