The Kings County District Attorney’s Office (KCDA) is seeking a Grand Jury Reporter to take stenographic notes of grand jury proceedings. These notes are later converted into a readable document known as “minutes” which are used to prepare for the trial. The role involves performing difficult and responsible stenographic activities on a stenotype machine, taking verbatim statements of witnesses, complainants, and defendants, and transcribing this material for use in court proceedings. The reporter may also appear in court to testify as to the accuracy of statements or testimony and the circumstances surrounding interrogations, maintain records and files of proceedings and stenographic notes, and potentially supervise other personnel.
