About The Position

The Grain Origination Merchant represents the link between farmer customers and the company's customer-facing strategy. The role translates regional and local cash commodity market knowledge into timely, competitive service offerings. It supports the Salina, Kansas territory, primarily involving wheat, soybean, corn, and milo products. The position is hybrid and requires commuting to the office in Olathe, Kansas, or Salina, Kansas, at least three times per week.

Requirements

At least two years of related work experience.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Commercial or sales experience.
Understanding of basic production agriculture principles.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain relationships with farmer customers.
Competitively position commodity offers in local cash markets to source commodities through company facilities while maximizing profitability for customers and the company.
Understand customers' basic market access needs and adapt service offerings as those needs and local cash markets change.
Collaborate with internal sales, merchandising, customer service, and operations teams to meet customer needs efficiently and in alignment with regional and local cash market strategies.
Use company systems and digital offerings to support an efficient and effective customer experience.
Identify and communicate customer insights to the business unit for use in improving standardized customer segment value propositions and developing overall business strategy.
Independently resolve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision and escalate more complex issues to appropriate staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
