About The Position

The University of Saskatchewan is seeking Graduate Student Teaching Assistants for the Civil, Geological, and Environmental Engineering department for the 2026-2027 Regular Session. General duties include preparing, delivering, and attending lectures, demonstrating material, marking assignments, student consulting, invigilating, holding office hours, setting up experiments, supervising field trips, and conferring with the supervisor. The work location is the College of Engineering, and the position reports to the respective course instructor. The required hours are 1-12 per week, depending on the course. The employment duration is from September 1 to December 31, 2026.

Requirements

  • MSc or PhD student in good standing enrolled in the College of Engineering, preferably in Civil, Geological, and Environmental Engineering with an undergraduate degree in Civil, Geological, and Environmental Engineering.
  • Strong English language, oral and written communication skills required.
  • Familiarity with specific equipment used in laboratory (if applicable).
  • Completion of the University of Saskatchewan Laboratory Safety and WHMIS training courses is required.
  • Must be a current, registered student to be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as an instructor or teaching assistant at the University of Saskatchewan
  • Coursework, research, or industrial experience that is relevant to a specific class or laboratory
