About The Position

Tatham Engineering is seeking a civil engineering student for a fall term position in their Ottawa office. This role involves assisting with daily operations in both office and field settings, primarily within the land development engineering department, but with potential assignments in other departments such as municipal, water resources, water & wastewater, transportation, or structural (bridges and buildings). The position offers an opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a collaborative environment with mentorship from experienced professionals.

Requirements

• Currently a college or university level engineering student.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Report writing.
• Data collection.
• Computer modelling.
• Interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily operations in the office and the field.
• Assist with design calculations and ACAD drafting.
• Preparation of applications for approval.
• Compile and analyze data.
• Assist with preparations of tender and contract administration documents.
• Assist with construction inspection.
• Provide miscellaneous engineering assistance to project managers.
