About The Position

The Graduate Student Solutions Specialist serves as the primary point of contact and triage resource for the School of Law’s graduate programs. This role supports student retention and satisfaction by managing incoming inquiries with efficiency and discretion, addressing immediate concerns, and directing more complex matters to the appropriate functional teams. The Specialist provides the Dean and Director with actionable insights on student satisfaction and collaborates closely with the Instructional Design, Advising, and LLM program teams to help ensure a consistent and seamless academic experience for all graduate students.

Requirements

  • Experience with online learning tools and technologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a primary point of contact for graduate student inquiries, ensuring timely and professional responses.
  • Exercises independent judgment to resolve student concerns or route issues to the appropriate department or functional area.
  • Communicates with students regarding university deadlines and administrative processes to support a positive student experience.
  • Works with students to identify and address barriers to success and connects them with appropriate resources to support retention.
  • Maintains records of student interactions and reports on trends related to the student experience.
  • Gathers input from program teams and prepares summary materials for program leadership in support of recurring meetings.
  • Maintains documentation and tracking of program decisions and follow-up items across graduate program teams.
  • Prepares recurring reports for program leadership highlighting areas of student concern and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Develops and maintains departmental resources, such as FAQs and reference materials, to address common student and faculty questions.
  • Assists the advising team with reviews of student records and academic progress in preparation for advising sessions.
  • Coordinates the distribution of advising materials and communicates updates on program requirements and academic policies to students.
  • Supports the scheduling and coordination of advising sessions and tracks student participation.
  • Serves as an initial point of contact for student-reported technical issues with online learning tools, resolving routine issues or escalating as needed.
  • Collects and compiles student feedback to support continuous improvement of online course offerings.
  • Assists in communicating course requirements and orientation materials to incoming students.
  • Provides administrative support for Master of Laws (LLM) program activities and events.
  • Coordinates logistics for program events and visitors, including related documentation and expense support.
  • Serves as an initial point of contact for the LLM program, triaging inquiries and providing general administrative support.
  • Assists faculty with questions regarding university processes and administrative policies for graduate programs.
  • Serves as a liaison between faculty and student support services to address student concerns.
