About The Position
Graduate Assistants will assist the Floor Engineer with the operations of the I-HACK Makerspace and collaboration with CEB Senior Design Projects. The environment such as the Makerspace also fosters great growth in relation to valuable NACE competencies. Critical Thinking: In the Makerspace, critical thinking and problem-solving skills are crucial. You will encounter various challenges while learning to use equipment or working on projects. They need to analyze the situation, evaluate options, and develop creative solutions to overcome obstacles. Communication: Effective communication is essential in the Makerspace environment. As a Senior Lab Technician, you will assist students and faculty at every level. Teamwork: As a Senior Lab Technician you need to properly collaborate with whomever walks through the doors. Technology: You will become proficient in every piece of technology on the floor and be able to run that piece of equipment with confidence and purpose. Leadership: You will be required to lead and help those students who you oversee and doing so safely and confidently leads to success. Professionalism: A Makerspace like this promotes professionalism and work ethic. Students need to demonstrate responsibility, reliability, and integrity in handling equipment and materials. You could be doing dirty work in the morning and have a business lunch in the afternoon. Career & Self Development: Makerspaces can serve as platforms for students to develop career management skills. They can explore their interests, identify their strengths, and set goals related to additive and subtractive manufacturing or other fields. Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in an appropriate engineering/business degree
- Full-time enrollment in a Master of CEB program

Responsibilities
- Conduct experiments accurately and promptly
- Maintain, calibrate, and operate laboratory instruments
- Assist in the setup and use of new lab equipment
- Prepare experiments, set up and assist faculty with laboratory classes
- Enter, clean, and analyze data using Excel spreadsheets and applicable statistical programs
- Understand and practice lab safety protocols
- Coordinate meetings, manage calendars, and take minutes at meetings
- Collaborate with undergraduate students on research and class projects
- Assist in responsibilities regarding Makerspace
- Performs other duties as assigned within the scope, responsibility, and requirements of the position
