The Graduate Assistant for Research will work with the Archivist and Director in the Sequoyah National Research Center to processes and organize archival information. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Regular admission to a UA Little Rock graduate degree program or good standing with the UA Little Rock Graduate School for continuing graduate students
  • Ability to work the required hours (PT-50% - 20 hours per week/PT-25% - 10 hours per week) with regular attendance
  • Knowledge of US and Native American history
  • Knowledge of MS Office systems
  • Ability to work without constant supervision
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment
  • Ability to work with diverse student populations
  • Independent worker and a team player
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Self-motivated, problem-solving, proactive attitude, and highly dependable

Responsibilities

  • Notify the supervisor when absent
  • Work with diverse populations
  • Coordinate long-term, multi-layered projects that require collaboration with others inside and out side of your office
  • Organizational skills to organize different projects
  • Be accessible to students or colleagues through email and scheduled appointments
  • Assist with other duties as assigned
