As part of the Worley Graduate Community and under the guidance of experienced process engineers, the Graduate Process Engineer-in-Training (EIT) supports the delivery of safe, high-quality process engineering services to Worley and its customers. This role provides structured mentorship, hands-on project exposure, and a strong technical foundation to support professional development toward registration as a Professional Engineer.

Requirements

  • A recognized and relevant engineering degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline that is eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training and progression toward Professional Engineer status.
  • Foundational knowledge of chemical/process engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, and reaction engineering.
  • Developing skills with process engineering tools and software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, UniSim, or similar).
  • Basic proficiency with common productivity tools (e.g., MS Office Suite).
  • Curiosity, strong problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn in a project-based environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Co-op, internship, or vacation student experience in an engineering or industrial environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver process engineering services that meet Worley, client, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, on time and within budget.
  • Assist with the preparation of process engineering deliverables, including: Process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), Heat and material balances, Process datasheets, calculations, and technical reports.
  • Contribute to engineering studies, technical evaluations, and design reviews under supervision.
  • Support the development of process models and simulations as required.
  • Participate in hazard identification and risk assessment activities (e.g., HAZID, HAZOP) as part of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines (mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and project controls) to support integrated project delivery.
  • Support procurement, construction, and commissioning activities by assisting with technical clarifications and document reviews.
  • Identify technical issues, propose solutions, and seek guidance when appropriate.
  • Maintain strong awareness of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements and contribute to Worley’s safety culture.
