About The Position

This is an hourly student position for a current or newly accepted UF graduate student on the Gainesville campus. The role involves conducting outreach to UF students on various health topics, facilitating educational activities, assisting with campus events, and collaborating with campus departments and student organizations for wellness initiatives. Focus areas may include Healthy Relationships, Sexual Health, Interpersonal Violence Prevention, Bystander Intervention, and Flourishing (stress management, time management, sleep habits, mindfulness). The position also includes residential outreach responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Current UF graduate student or newly accepted graduate student on the Gainesville campus
  • Must be able to ideally start in August 2026
  • Must be able to work office hours physically in the main GatorWell office (Suite 1100, Reitz Union) as well as Residential Outreach Spaces (Jennings or Springs) if applicable
  • Must be able to commit 20 hours per week to this position and its responsibilities for Fall 2026-Spring 2027
  • Must be able to attend the Fall GatorWell trainings: August 18th and 19th, 2026
  • Have obtained a bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with public speaking and/or group facilitation
  • Have experience with research, presenting, or outreach in the fields of prevention, health, wellness, public health or health education

Responsibilities

  • Conduct outreach to UF students about a variety of health topics
  • Facilitate presentations, educational activities, and discussions with student groups
  • Assist with coordination and production tasks for campus events
  • Conduct outreach efforts focused on the dimensions of well-being and health topics relevant to the college student experience
  • Assist with data collection, assessment, and benchmarking
  • Collaborate with campus departments, student organizations, and community stakeholders for wellness education initiatives
  • Assist with other GatorWell projects and focus areas as needed
  • Support the enhancement of Bystander Intervention programming for the campus community
  • Develop, implement, and assess wellness presentations, training sessions, and workshops specifically geared toward stress management, time management, sleep habits and mindfulness
  • Assist with 1 on 1 student educational sessions for time management, stress management and sleep habits
  • Work at least 8-10 hours in one of our Residential Outreach Offices (Jennings or Springs)
