About The Position

UPMC St. Margaret Hospital is hiring Graduate Nurses as full-time Professional Staff Nurses. This position offers the opportunity to secure a role up to a year prior to graduation. Currently, openings are available on the 5A Oncology Unit, a 34-bed medical/surgical unit specializing in Oncology, Neurology, and Palliative Care. This unit is recognized for its strong teamwork, collaborative culture, and commitment to high-quality patient care, providing a solid foundation for a nursing career. UPMC St. Margaret is a four-time ANCC Magnet Designated community hospital known for its supportive environment and opportunities for interdepartmental relationship building. As a Magnet facility, nurses participate in shared governance through various councils and committees, fostering career growth and professional practice.

Requirements

  • Current student nurse graduating in Fall 2026, Spring 2027, or Summer 2027.
  • Eligible for State Board Licensure and successfully pass the examination before beginning this role OR ability to start with TPP and must obtain license within 4 months of beginning position.
  • Graduate nurses must complete licensure examination within FOUR MONTHS of hire or within one year of graduation, whichever comes first.
  • Diploma, Associate, Bachelor's, and direct entry Master's degree levels are all welcome.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse either in the state where the facility is located or in a state covered by a licensure compact agreement with the state where the facility is located.
