To achieve this mission, EM University Programs develop strategic partnerships between colleges and universities, investing in student enrichment programs, curriculum development, research efforts, and internship and Position Summary: The position involves collaboration with the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) Site Operations & Infrastructure Division and the National Laboratories, emphasizing the integration of geophysics, hydrogeology, and geochemistry. The fellow will assist in analyzing large-scale geochemical datasets, modeling reactive transport processes, and supporting laboratory testing using advanced spectrometry methods such as ICP-MS and ICP-OES to characterize engineered barrier systems and geological formations. Located at the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Savannah River Site (SRS) in Aiken SC, the laboratory develops and deploys innovative technologies to address some of the nation’s environmental, energy, and national security challenges.
