Graduate Engineering Intern - Electronics

Mayo Clinic•Rochester, MN
•Onsite

About The Position

This full-time graduate engineering internship runs from May or June through December 2027 and is based on site in Rochester, Minnesota. Its purpose is to provide a graduate student with relevant engineering experience under the instruction and guidance of one or more mentors. The intern will learn the procedures and processes of the Division of Engineering and assigned work unit, complete selected engineering assignments, and receive performance assessments. The internship supports electrical engineering development for physiological sensing, monitoring, and therapeutic technologies. The intern may contribute to low-power, battery-powered, and wirelessly connected medical device prototypes, working on selected components or subsystems of a broader modular platform under experienced engineers. Assignments will be matched to the intern’s preparation, learning objectives, and project needs. Work may include component design, project strategy, gathering user needs and specifications, evaluating commercial components, assembling prototypes, design verification and validation, troubleshooting, and participating in design reviews.
