About The Position

A well-established engineering consultancy is seeking an ambitious Graduate Civil / Structural Engineer to join its team. The role offers hands-on experience across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial, industrial, educational and waste management projects, with opportunities to develop technical knowledge in structural design, drainage and wider civil engineering. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced engineers in a supportive environment and contribute to practical, efficient design solutions. The consultancy is looking for someone able to work full-time in the office. Candidates with up to two years of relevant experience are particularly welcome, although recent graduates are encouraged to apply. The position is described as an immediate opportunity, with interviews available now and an appointment sought as soon as possible.

Requirements

• A degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• An interest in structural design and drainage.
• An interest in reinforced concrete, steel structures, foundations and earthworks.
• Motivation and willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A proactive approach and genuine interest in developing a career in civil and structural engineering.
• Ability to work full-time in the office and attend a face-to-face interview.

Nice To Haves

• Up to two years of relevant experience; recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.
• Ideally based within approximately one hour of the office, such as York, Leeds, Thirsk or Doncaster.
• The right to work in the UK is preferred; visa sponsorship may be considered for an exceptional candidate.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and analysis of structural engineering projects across a variety of sectors.
• Support reinforced concrete and steel structure design.
• Work on platform levels, earthworks and foundation design.
• Gain exposure to drainage design and wider civil engineering works.
• Contribute to projects across residential, commercial, industrial, educational and waste management sectors.
• Produce engineering calculations, drawings and technical documentation.
• Work closely with experienced engineers to develop practical and efficient design solutions.
• Build technical expertise through hands-on project experience and day-to-day collaboration with the team.
