About The Position

Glenville State University is seeking a motivated individual to fill the role of Graduate Assistant within the Education Department. This is a 10-month annual appointment where the successful candidate will report to the Dean of Teacher Education. The role involves a variety of administrative and support tasks within the department.

Requirements

  • Registered and enrolled in an education graduate degree program at Glenville State University.
  • An undergraduate degree.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Sound interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Solid written and verbal skills.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Must be registered for at least nine hours per semester.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving visitors and guests in the department.
  • Assisting with the Education Curriculum Resource Center and maintaining its open hours.
  • Assisting with special projects as needed.
  • Providing secretarial support to department faculty.
  • Assisting with Open House and recruitment events.
  • Assisting with student organization events and planning.
  • Assisting department faculty with Quality Assurance Systems and Data Management (e.g., Watermark).

Benefits

  • $1,000 food stipend in the campus dining hall ($500 per semester).
  • $4,000 salary stipend ($2,000 per semester).
  • One graduate class per semester to be paid for – valued at $1,434 per semester and $2,868 per year.
