About The Position

The McNair Scholars Program is seeking a motivated student to work with and mentor undergraduate students interested in pursuing graduate degrees. This role involves close collaboration with the Director and Assistant Director to plan, coordinate, and execute workshops and events focused on graduate school preparation. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills, and demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals. Prior experience as a McNair scholar or in planning student events is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit McNair Scholars at campus-wide events
  • Creation of program newsletter for campus, community, and monthly bulletins for students
  • Processing of student assignments during the McNair Research Internship
  • Co-teaches seminars during McNair Research Internship
  • Coordination of social and cultural activities
  • Maintenance of social networking sites
  • Responsible for filing and maintenance of student records
  • Organizes McNair photographs and records of activities
  • Assists in office management, telephone inquiries, and mail processing
