About The Position

The Graduate Assistant for Campus Visits oversees the Student Ambassador organization. University Student Ambassadors are undergraduate student leaders who volunteer to meet and greet prospective students, provide campus tours, help at recruitment events, and assist in the Office of Admissions. The goal of the Ambassadors is to provide prospective students first-hand information about the University of Arkansas. In sharing their experiences, ambassadors hope to ease the transition of new students into life at the University of Arkansas and share with them the many wonderful opportunities that await them. This position works closely with the Tour Coordinator and the ambassador officers, overseeing the ambassadors daily schedules, organizing daily tours, keeping up with absences, email communication, helping plan special events and assisting with recruitment, hiring, and training of Student Ambassadors. The Graduate Assistant will also present University of Arkansas information to prospective students and families visiting campus. Night and weekend work is occasionally required. Other duties as assigned. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience as a student ambassador or orientation leader on a college campus
  • Must provide proof of acceptance and be enrolled into a UAF graduate program through the Graduate School
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

  • At least one semester of experience as a student ambassador or orientation leader in the Office of Admissions at the University of Arkansas - Fayetteville
