This assistantship provides practical experience for individuals interested in pursuing a career in recreation or athletics. The Graduate Assistant will gain knowledge in scheduling, facility management, and leadership within the workplace. Students will have the opportunity to learn and practice their risk management and critical thinking skills in a fun, exciting position that involves direct interaction with hundreds of students daily. This role is responsible for assisting in the operation of recreation and wellness programs, requiring skills in organizing recreational sports and wellness programs that offer all North Central College students, staff, and faculty opportunities to participate in wellness, recreation, team, or club sports. The position also involves working collaboratively with various college and community personnel, including coaches, athletic department administration, community education conferences and camps, physical plant staff, building/grounds staff personnel, campus safety, student-workers, sport management interns, and residential life staff.
