Assist the Engineering Technology Department with a variety of academic, research, and industry engagement duties. A Graduate Assistant will gain essential professional and educational experience that supports career development in engineering technology and related technical fields. Responsibilities are performed in a professional, organized, and service-oriented manner to support students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Assist Engineering Technology students with job searches by researching and sharing relevant job and internship opportunities in technical and engineering-related fields Conduct online research to identify potential employment and internship opportunities suitable for Engineering Technology majors Provide one-on-one support to students for career development, including resume reviews, technical portfolio development, and interview preparation when needed Develop and maintain relationships with regional industry partners to help create and coordinate internship and cooperative education opportunities Maintain records of job openings, internship placements, and employer partnerships to track student outcomes and program success Promote and assist with department career-related events such as employer presentations, industry tours, and career fairs Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student engagement with industry and align opportunities with workforce needs Assist faculty with applied research projects related to engineering technology, manufacturing, and technical education Conduct literature reviews and assist with project documentation Support development of research methodologies and data collection Assist with analysis of project results using appropriate qualitative or quantitative tools Attend project meetings and contribute to project planning and implementation Prepare progress reports and assist in preparation of materials for final project or grant submissions Assist with laboratory preparation, equipment organization, and technical demonstrations when needed Perform other duties as assigned Graduate Assistants are expected to perform duties at a level higher than undergraduate student employees. This may include assisting with laboratory instruction, tutoring undergraduate students, grading technical assignments, or supporting classroom activities as assigned.
