About The Position

Our Contaminated, Assessment and Remediation (CAR) team in Waterloo, Ontario is seeking an Environmental or Civil Engineering Graduate. The CAR team focuses on brownfield redevelopment, environmental site assessments, remediation, and the long-term management of remedial systems. This role offers a dynamic culture with a hybrid work model, balancing in-office collaboration with flexibility. Requirements

Relevant Bachelor of Environmental/Civil Engineering or equivalent.
0-2 years of experience in the environmental engineering field.
Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail.
Flexibility with project types and responsibilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and be highly communicative.
Ability to manage your schedule.
Valid driver's license (an MVR check will be performed prior to hire).
Willingness to undertake field work as required for the role. Field activities may include extended days, variable weather conditions, and work at remote sites.

Nice To Haves

Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation in Waterloo is an asset.
Experience working in a construction setting is an asset.

Responsibilities

Prepare project-related technical documents including environmental reports, technical specifications, work plans, cost estimates, and drawings for review.
Conduct field work and provide oversight for environmental investigations and remediation activities, including site investigations, contractor management, drilling, soil sampling, well installation, groundwater sampling, excavation, contract administration, and vapour sampling.
Engage in various project types such as environmental site assessments (Phase I and II), environmental monitoring, and soil/groundwater management across private, public, and federal sectors, including infrastructure and property/building developments.
Coordinate and schedule project-related work, collaborating with other GHD staff, external contractors, and public entities (e.g., obtaining permits).
