About The Position

This graduate assistantship will be dedicated to student engagement, leadership development, and community development. Specifically, the position will be supporting, promoting and organizing community building activities on all campuses. This position starts in the 2026/2027 school year.

Requirements

  • Naropa University graduate student in good academic and disciplinary standing with the University.
  • High degree of emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and assertive communication skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive team environment and behave professionally with everyone encountered in the course and scope of the job duties.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner.

  • Experience advising and/or supervising students and student staff preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements special events and programs throughout the year to address specific diversity, leadership development and wellness needs in collaboration with the Director of Campus and Residential Life, Resident Assistant team, student organizations, and other campus partners.
  • Coordinates the room reservation process for student organizations.
  • Recruits and retains registered student organizations.
  • Works with the Director of Campus and Residential Life and Dean of Students to provide guidance and advice to the Student Union of Naropa (student government) and their events and programs.
  • Co-coordinates the annual Student Engagement Awards Celebration in conjunction with the Director of Campus and Residential Life and the Division of Enrollment, Marketing, and Student Success.
  • Assists with co-curricular leadership programming.
  • Collaborates with other programs and departments to create involvement and learning opportunities for students.
  • Assists with strategic planning for the Office of Campus and Residential Life.
  • Functions in the professional staff on-call rotation for the Office of Campus and Residential Life.
  • Assists in management of the Food Pantry.
  • Participates in research, assessment and benchmarking activities, as assigned.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
