Graduate Analyst

Wise•Austin, TX
•$104,000

About The Position

Wise is hiring three graduates for its North America Regional Analytics team, starting in September 2027. This full-time role places analysts within North America product teams serving personal and business customers in the US and Canada. Analysts work day to day with product managers and engineers to inform product decisions, rather than working in a central reporting team. Each graduate joins one of the Onboarding, Send, Account, or Growth teams and receives mentorship from a senior analyst as part of a wider North America analyst group. The analyst will investigate customer behavior and feedback, assess product opportunities, help design and evaluate experiments, monitor core metrics, and communicate findings that support decisions. They will build and maintain data models and dashboards on the semantic layer using tools including Snowflake, dbt, Git, Airflow, Python, and Lightdash. Wise uses AI tools for routine reporting and deeper analysis; analysts are expected to verify the data, logic, and conclusions themselves. The role offers a structured first six months: by month three, the graduate is expected to own part of the team’s regular metrics and deliver an initial analysis; by month six, they are expected to lead a discovery or experiment readout from question to recommendation and present it to the team. Compensation is up to USD 104,000 yearly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a quantitative field such as economics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or engineering, completed by the start date, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience using SQL, Python, or R to answer a real question with data, through coursework, a project, an internship, or independent work.
  • Understanding of statistical basics, including distributions, hypothesis tests, and confidence intervals, and ability to distinguish a meaningful difference from noise.
  • Curiosity about customer behavior and ability to consider what action should follow from analytical results.
  • Ability to explain findings to nontechnical audiences in writing and conversation.
  • Ownership, including following work through, asking for help early, and acting on feedback.
  • Ability to use AI tools to work efficiently and check their output before relying on it.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake, dbt, Git, Airflow, or Lightdash.
  • Exposure to A/B testing or causal inference, through coursework or practical experience.
  • An internship or project in analytics, data science, product, or finance.
  • Interest in payments, fintech, or how people move and manage money across borders.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate customer behavior, funnels, feedback, and survey responses to identify customer difficulties and opportunities for improvement.
  • Size opportunities and help product teams prioritize work with the greatest impact; over time, lead discoveries and present recommendations to product managers.
  • Help design and analyze A/B tests and pre/post comparisons for new features, translating results into recommendations to roll out, iterate, or roll back.
  • Monitor the team’s core metrics and flag unexpected changes or issues.
  • Build and maintain data models and dashboards on the semantic layer using Snowflake, dbt, Git, Airflow, Python, and Lightdash.
  • Help improve AI skills used for routine reporting, while validating data, logic, and conclusions before they are used.
  • Communicate findings in writing, charts, and presentations to the team and wider North America squad.
  • Within the first three months, own part of the team’s regular metrics and deliver an initial analysis.
  • Within the first six months, lead a discovery or experiment readout from question through recommendation and present it to the team.
