As a General Operator at JT Russell & Sons, you will have the opportunity to safely operate various pieces of equipment to achieve precise location and grading as outlined in the plans. Your role will be crucial in delivering high-quality finished products on Highway Projects. In addition to operating equipment, you must be willing to adapt and perform other duties as directed by the grading foreman. This position requires a proactive and safety-conscious individual who is eager to learn and grow within our energetic and professional team. GPS experience and a valid driver's license is a plus for this onsite role in Albemarle, NC.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in operating earth-moving equipment such as dozers and backhoes.
Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and safety standards.
Ability to maintain, inspect, and clean equipment efficiently.
Keen eye for detail and situational awareness.
Conscientious work ethic to uphold a safe working environment.
Physical capabilities, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 90 pounds, and navigating uneven surfaces.
Prior experience in grading, reading grade stakes and plans.
Respectful demeanor towards colleagues, customers, and the public.
Flexibility in working hours.
Teamwork and self-motivation.
Reliable transportation to and from the Albemarle Office or Jobsite.

Responsibilities

Safely operate various pieces of equipment to achieve precise location and grading as outlined in the plans.
Deliver high-quality finished products on Highway Projects.
Adapt and perform other duties as directed by the grading foreman.
Maintain, inspect, clean, and occasionally repair heavy equipment.
Perform some manual labor as needed and directed by supervisor.
