About The Position
The Hawaii State Department of Education is committed to hiring highly qualified teachers in every classroom. This position is for a Grade K-6 Teacher at Hickam Elementary. If hired without completing a Teacher's Education Program, there is a maximum of 3 years to obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license, requiring enrollment in a program and satisfactory demonstration of active pursuit towards meeting licensing requirements each year. Upon hire, a valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit is necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (minimum qualification for teacher, librarian, or counselor positions, with exceptions for designated CTE positions)
- Enrollment in a Teacher's Education Program (if hired without one)
- Satisfactory demonstration of active pursuit towards meeting Hawaii licensing requirements each year (if hired without a program)
- Valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit upon hire
