About The Position

Gilbert Paterson Middle School is seeking a Grade 7 Homeroom teacher to join their team for the 2026-27 school year. The subjects that the successful candidate will be teaching during the 2026-2027 school year will be determined/communicated prior to the school year commencing. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic educator who has previous experience teaching core subjects and options at a middle school level, has the ability to work closely with the staff to build a positive and inclusive school culture, has the ability to work collaboratively to develop and implement new curriculum, and demonstrates the ability and deep belief in forming positive and genuine relationships for the purpose of learning in an inclusive classroom. Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.

Requirements

• Possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate
• Provide a police information check, including Vulnerable Sector Check, with no charges or convictions
• Provide a satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services
• Provide proof of photo identification
• Provide documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name
