About The Position
This is an extra duty position for a Grade 5 Boys Basketball Coach at Harper Elementary. The role involves developing and implementing an exemplary athletic program that provides the highest quality education and growth opportunities for every student athlete. The coach will be responsible for fostering positive interactions among student-athletes, promoting self-direction, and creating clear standards of behavior and academic performance. The position requires comprehensive knowledge of basketball, effective adaptation of instruction, and organized program planning. The coach will also ensure compliance with school policies, work cooperatively with staff, relate positively to parents and the community, and demonstrate professional growth. Responsibilities include the care of materials, equipment, and facilities, and maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe environment.

- Utilize appropriate and varied coaching techniques and learning activities.
- Maintain an effective system of monitoring student progress and inform appropriate persons.
- Ensure full compliance with all school and school board policies and regulations.
- Work cooperatively with the entire staff.
- Relate positively to parents and other community representatives.
- Demonstrate professional growth.
- Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all required records and reports.
- Demonstrate proficiency in standard English, both spoken and written.
- Accept and fulfill responsibilities beyond the team setting as they pertain to school expectations.
