About The Position
The South Shore Regional Centre for Education (SSRCE) is seeking a Grade 3 Classroom Teacher for New Germany Elementary School. This position is 100% substitute/anticipated term, effective January 4, 2027, to June 30, 2027. The Elementary Teacher plays a critical role in supporting student learning and achievement within the SSRCE, grounded in the Nova Scotia Teaching Standards. This role emphasizes meeting the diverse needs of all learners and maintaining high expectations for every student, reflecting the complexity and importance of teaching.
Requirements
- Valid Nova Scotia Teacher Certification
- Bachelor of Education - Elementary
Nice To Haves
- Minimum two years experience teaching at the P-3 level
- Commitment to inquiry-based learning, UDL, and hands-on learning experiences
- Values relationship-building, inclusive education, trauma-informed practices, and culturally responsive teaching.
- Experience teaching grade 3 in Nova Scotia public schools
- Experience with Think SRSD, and Know Your Code is an asset
