About The Position

This is a term position for a Grade 1/2 teacher at the Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education. The role is 100% effective from August 1st, 2026, to December 21st, 2026. Terms and conditions of employment, including wages, are in accordance with the Nova Scotia Teachers' Provincial Agreement. The posting closes at midnight on June 24th, 2026.

Requirements

• AVRCE will require referees to provide reference checks prior to noon on June 26.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality instruction within the framework established by the Nova Scotia Department of Education and Early Childhood Development
• Implement strategies, activities, and techniques for promoting student learning based on each student’s prior knowledge, skills, and learning needs
• Demonstrate best practices in assessment to determine next steps
• Attend and actively engage in meetings and ongoing professional development
• Maintain and submit all records in online systems and other communication avenues
