About The Position

The Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education is seeking a Grade 2 Teacher for a term position from August 1st, 2026, to November 12th, 2026. This role involves providing quality instruction, implementing learning strategies, assessing student progress, attending professional development, and maintaining records. Terms and conditions of employment, including wages, are in accordance with the Nova Scotia Teachers' Provincial Agreement.

Requirements

• Provide 3 professional/supervisory, work-related references, their email addresses and their phone numbers in your SuccessFactors application.
• References must be able to speak to an applicant’s teaching abilities.
• AVRCE will require referees to provide reference checks prior to noon on June 26.

Nice To Haves

• Must be available to take phone calls between June 18 and up to July 3 for interview scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality instruction within the framework established by the Nova Scotia Department of Education and Early Childhood Development
• Implement strategies, activities, and techniques for promoting student learning based on each student’s prior knowledge, skills, and learning needs
• Demonstrate best practices in assessment to determine next steps
• Attend and actively engage in meetings and ongoing professional development
• Maintain and submit all records in online systems and other communication avenues
