About The Position

Amgen is hiring graduate-level interns for its R&D Execution, Operations & Strategy (R&D EOS) organization. The approximately 12-week internship combines project-based work and experiential learning. R&D EOS drives innovation beyond the molecule and applies digital and other strategies to simplify processes across Strategy; Portfolio & Program Management; R&D Business Operations; and R&D Knowledge & Learning. Interns will work collaboratively across multiple functions and levels, including Research & Development, the Chief Medical Office, the Chief Technology Office, and Quality & Compliance. Depending on the project, an intern may support a functional-area project, work with cross-functional teams to improve R&D competitiveness through speed, agility, and execution excellence, and use research and qualitative and quantitative analysis to develop recommendations. Interns will present their findings through forums such as an intern-wide poster session and a final readout to executive management. A project may involve meeting internal stakeholders to identify common procedural questions and points of contact; reviewing and organizing approved Supplier Management Performance & Analytics (SMPA) procedures and reference materials; identifying gaps, outdated information, or conflicting guidance for procedure owners to review; and building and configuring an SMPA Procedures agent using Microsoft 365 Copilot Agent Builder or ChatGPT Agent Builder. The intern may develop instructions and suggested prompts directing users to approved sources, create representative test questions, evaluate responses for accuracy and clarity, and present the prototype and results to stakeholders. Specific tasks and requirements may vary with the project. The internship is approximately 12 weeks and requires a full-time schedule. Interns must remain enrolled in an accredited college or university following the program and be located in the United States for its duration. The listed U.S. base pay range is $35.34–$41.20 per hour. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. for the duration of the program; sponsorship for future full-time roles is not guaranteed.
