About The Position

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is seeking a part-time Program Coordinator to manage the day-to-day administrative and operational activities for the Gateway Program Seminar (GPS) program. This role collaborates with the GPS Faculty Director to support program development, schedule GPS courses, coordinate staff professional development, and manage HR aspects for faculty and student workers. The coordinator will also oversee GPS, Academic Prep, and Learning Communities, ensuring efficient business processes. UCCS is located at the base of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado Springs, offering a vibrant community with stunning landscapes, a rich history, arts, and a growing tech scene. Requirements

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional experience in an academic or higher education setting is preferred.
  • Professional experience in program coordination, administration, or support in a fast-paced environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports program development and serves as a coordinator of components of the program as designated by the GPS Faculty Director.
  • Coordinates with the GPS Faculty Director regarding program planning and activity, monitors program progress, and prepares documentation.
  • Prepares, monitors, and maintains reports outlining program developments.
  • Acts as program representative for all human resource related tasks, including but not limited to faculty and student employee contracts, completion of all hire and termination paperwork, and approval of submitted employee timesheets.
  • Acts as Program representative and provides information to students, faculty, and broader UCCS community regarding policies and schedules.
  • Performs specialized activities including coordination of Gateway Days, Days of Service, including the purchase of promotional items, and more as needed.
  • Coordinates programs in the absence of the Faculty Director.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
