Gps/Grade Setter
About The Position
This role involves utilizing GPS systems and traditional methods for grade setting and construction layout on various projects including highways, parking lots, and civil sitework. The position requires a willingness to perform manual labor, read and understand survey stakes to verify grade specifications, and maintain a strong focus on safety at all times. The employee will also be responsible for troubleshooting issues related to material quality/quantity and GPS equipment operation/repair, and may be asked to learn equipment operation and other construction tasks. This is a full-time position with a company that emphasizes equal opportunity and affirmative action.
Requirements
- Requires bending, kneeling, climbing, walking and twisting.
- Aptitude for math and problem solving.
- Ability to read, understand and verify construction plans.
- Troubleshoot situations and solve problems. (material quality/quantity, GPS equipment operation/repair, etc.)
- Willingness to learn equipment operation and other aspects of construction.
Nice To Haves
- 2 years working in civil construction including earthwork, paving and concrete preferred.
- Ability to read, understand and verify construction plans a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Utilize GPS systems and traditional means to set grade and conduct construction layout on highways, parking lots and civil sitework projects.

- Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions or behaviors.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
