About The Position

WR has an opportunity for a GPS Distribution Field Representative, Senior to provide U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard Fleet Support, including the operation, maintenance, and repair of the Navigation Sensor System Interface (NAVSSI), Global Positioning System (GPS)-Based Positioning, Navigation, and Timing Service (GPNTS) systems, and associated ancillary equipment. This position will also provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior NAVSSI technicians.

Requirements

  • Technical training in U.S. Navy navigation equipment and systems.
  • Eight (8)+ years of hands-on experience with U.S. Navy navigation equipment and systems, including experience in at least three (3) of the following four (4) areas: Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test and Evaluation, Training.
  • Recognized subject matter expert with demonstrated industry and/or public service leadership in U.S. Navy navigation equipment and systems.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite at an intermediate level or higher, with an emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Project is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Pre-Deployment Grooms (PDAs), system operations, system software loads, system configuration updates, system troubleshooting, system testing, and System Operational Verification Testing (SOVT).
  • Compile data and prepare reports documenting findings, deficiencies, and recommendations for identified shipboard issues and the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA).
  • Troubleshoot, test, and repair GPNTS and NAVSSI equipment and circuit cards.
  • Provide detailed reports for each component.
  • Develop, review, and provide GPNTS and NAVSSI system subject matter expertise in support of updates to Allowance Parts Lists (APLs), technical manuals, training curricula, MIPs, MRCs, and various test procedures.
  • Develop, review, and provide Daily Status Reports (DSRs) and Weekly Status Reports (WSRs). Report issues within 24 hours of occurrence.
  • Attend shipboard daily status meetings with a focus on documenting and reporting accomplishments and issues.
  • Attend weekly and monthly program OIPT meetings with a focus on lessons learned, risks, accomplishments, and process improvements.
