About The Position

Pitney Bowes is seeking a Government Renewal Account Manager to join their SendTech Solutions Digital Shipping team. This is a remote sales position, and qualified candidates must reside in the United States, specifically within the Eastern and Central Time Zones. The role focuses on client-centric sales, aiming to close deals and directly impact the company's Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) goal. The ideal candidate is forward-thinking, committed to championing new ideas and strategies to retain business and ensure client satisfaction, and possesses strong sales aptitude to consult, assess needs, and recommend appropriate products and services to existing government clients.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience executing outbound client calls to consult, assess needs, and recommend appropriate products and services.
  • Ability to overcome objections effectively to close the sale.
  • History of consistent and strong follow-up on sales opportunities through phone, fax, and email correspondence to answer questions and provide marketing materials using customized software.
  • Confidently initiate outbound sales calls.
  • Mastery of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools (e.g., Sales Force) to effectively plan and document sales activities, customer information, campaign management, account development, pipeline adds, and forecasting.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
  • Must have a secure, quiet, distraction-free area at home to focus on work and protect client data.
  • Must have the technology to work successfully at home (ongoing speed tests required).

  • Preferred experience working with Government, NGO, Non-Profit accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Generate, upgrade, and manage the portfolio of existing government business through outbound calling (no cold calling).
  • Adapt to situations requiring strong sales aptitude, follow up on leads, and use effective selling systems and techniques to probe, present, and close sales with existing government clients.
  • Work with decision-makers to address current needs, resolve issues related to existing lease agreements, or right-size solutions.
  • Overcome objections by positioning program benefits, features, and the company’s value proposition.
  • Partner with internal teams to resolve errors and client escalations.
  • Identify and implement changes needed to improve performance.
  • Raise the bar for yourself, your team, and the client.
