About The Position

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in government relations within a leading international financial services provider. The intern will contribute to Manulife/John Hancock's mission by supporting efforts to shape public policy and regulatory landscapes that impact the company and its customers. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship experience in government, public affairs, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of legislative and regulatory processes.
  • Experience with data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Support the government relations team in monitoring legislative and regulatory developments.
  • Assist in preparing policy briefs, research materials, and presentations.
  • Help coordinate meetings and events with policymakers and stakeholders.
  • Conduct research on specific policy issues relevant to the company's interests.
  • Perform administrative tasks to support the daily operations of the government relations department.
