About The Position

This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to building a structured Government Relations (GR) storyline by priority sector in Canada. The intern will help articulate key policy priorities, economic implications, and Schneider Electric’s role within these sectors. The goal is to enable more consistent and efficient engagement through the creation of reusable briefings, talking points, and narratives. This role will strengthen the team’s ability to anticipate and respond to policy developments with business-aligned insights, providing the intern with valuable experience at the intersection of public policy, business strategy, and executive engagement.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated (2025 or later) in Political Science, Public Policy, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of public policy and regulatory environments
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights
  • Excellent writing skills in English and French
  • Autonomous, resourceful, and able to work with limited direction
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Curious, proactive, and motivated to connect policy with business impact

Responsibilities

  • Analyze legislation, budgets, and policy announcements across key sectors (energy, electrification, digital infrastructure)
  • Translate policy developments into clear business implications and opportunities
  • Support development of sector-specific Government Relations narratives
  • Draft concise executive briefings, backgrounders, and talking points
  • Build and maintain a repository of reusable messaging and briefing materials
  • Create templates, trackers, and formats to standardize outputs and improve efficiency
  • Support strategic initiatives, including policy positioning and stakeholder mapping
