About The Position

International Justice Mission (IJM) is seeking Government Relations & Advocacy Interns & Fellows for June 2027 Field Office Deployment. These roles offer the opportunity to build relationships with policymakers, build political will and foreign aid to confront violence against the global poor, and mobilize IJM’s constituency to advocate for policies. Positions are available in various global offices, with a program duration of 12 months from June 2027 to May 2028. IJM is the global leader in protecting vulnerable people from violence, with a mission to rescue millions, protect half a billion, and make justice unstoppable. The organization has a proven track record of significantly reducing slavery and violence through its Justice System Strengthening Projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least one prior professional internship experience or significant leadership experience in extracurricular, campus, volunteer, or community-based organizations (for Interns)
  • 3+ years prior work experience and/or Master's degree (for Fellows)
  • Organizational and administrative skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software and Windows strongly preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish required for Latin America offices
  • Mature orthodox Christian faith

Nice To Haves

  • background in Government or Community Relations preferred (for Fellows)
  • Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Windows XP (for Fellows)
  • Experience networking with International and National NGOs, CBOs, faith-based communities, and local government (for Fellows)

Responsibilities

  • Draft training content and logistical support for NGO Trainings
  • Assist in evaluation and upgrading of NGO Training content
  • Develop content for Community Relations programs and campaigns
  • Maintain the Community Relations documentation and track monthly targets
  • Help in the planning and implementation of Advocacy team events
  • Provide Administrative support to the community relations team’s activities
  • Represent IJM at NGO Network and Government Network meetings if necessary
