About The Position

The Government Operations Consultant III supports the implementation, administration, and oversight of Florida’s Economic Development Programs under the purview of the Department of Florida Commerce’s Division of Economic Development. Responsibilities

  • Participate in every phase of the economic development project process.
  • Evaluate program applications to ensure statutory requirements and policy guidelines are met.
  • Play a key role in connection with the approval of economic development projects.
  • Coordinate the development of business analyses, reports and presentations to facilitate making important business decisions.
  • Conduct and manage financial, business and legal due diligence (e.g. credit analysis, industry analysis and competitive position).
  • Evaluate potential transactions and assist in the negotiation of such transactions.
  • Prepare contracts and agreements as necessary.
  • Analyze state and applicable federal legislation or regulations that may impact Florida’s economic development programs and prepare briefings, as necessary, for leadership.
  • Work with the Bureau Chief to recommend policies and procedures for program administration to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Work cooperatively with partners and provide excellent customer service to applicants.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
