About The Position

This is a professional position performing highly responsible technical and operational analysis functions in the Office of Revenue Management within the Trust Fund Unit. The incumbent is expected to function independently with minimal supervision to perform complex tasks. This is a highly skilled position responsible for large projects that involve Department finances, budget and cash management which includes the implementation and the maintenance of an ongoing financial management function.

Requirements

  • Four years of professional experience in budget, finance, accounting, and/or business administration. A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline can substitute for the required experience; or Four years of experience conducting financial analysis and financial reporting; or Four years of experience with Florida budget and/or accounting processes, principles, and practices
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically proficient in Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of Budget and Forecasting techniques and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Standards.
  • Knowledge of cost allocation and cost allocation principles as required by the Federal Government.
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations.
  • Ability to solve problems, document work and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices.
  • Ability to organize data into logical formats for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with a vast array of individuals.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to plan and organize work assignments and delegate as required.
  • Ability to conduct fact finding research, understand, and communicate rules, guidelines, and policies.
  • Ability to formulate policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems, and make decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Trust fund analyses, schedules and supporting documentation
  • Schedule I’s, to include various other schedules and supporting documentation
  • Funding of the Department’s annual approved operating budget, amendments, etc.

  • Assists in the preparation of year-end accruals
  • Research and analysis of the State and Federal policies, rules, and laws.
